Why Vine & Branch Fellowship Is Moving to Two Services
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” — Isaiah 54:2
This is precisely what we are doing—stretching our tent to make room for those God is drawing to Himself.
Attendance Thresholds Demand It
With 235 seats and an average of 220 attendees, we’ve surpassed the 80% capacity threshold. If we don’t make room, we may unintentionally turn away the very people we’re trying to reach.
Avoiding Growth Barriers
Many churches stop growing because they won’t expand their structure. Staying at one service can signal to new guests: “There’s no room here.” That’s not the message we want to send.
Reaching More People
In today’s world, flexibility matters. Offering services at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM creates more opportunities for working families, seniors, volunteers, and first-time guests.
“Attend One, Serve One”
allows volunteers to serve in one service and worship in the other, avoiding burnout and keeping them spiritually refreshed.
Unity Through Mission, Not Time
While some may worry about losing the “family feel,” we’re reminded that true unity is rooted in a shared mission, not sitting in the same room simultaneously.
“Make room for others by leading a life worthy of the calling you have received.” — Ephesians 4:1–3 (paraphrased)
It’s Cost-Effective
This allows us to double our capacity without construction. It’s wise stewardship of the space God has already provided.
Outreach Is Fueling Growth
God uses our outreach ministries—including Blessing Tree, Single Moms Gala, Helping Hands, and Reading with Mark Twain—to draw new people to our fellowship. Lives are being touched, hearts are being healed, and families are finding a church home rooted in the truth of God’s Word. This growth will continue because God is blessing obedience.
“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.” — 1 Corinthians 3:7
Starting April 20th: New Service Times
9:00 AM
11:00 AM
“Let all things be done decently and in order.” — 1 Corinthians 14:40
This shift will create order, margin, and space for the harvest God is bringing.
Serving at Vine & Branch During Two Services
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10
The beautiful part is that most teams will see little to no increase in time commitment—just more impact! Here’s what serving looks like:
☕ Brew Crew
No Extra Time Commitment
Make a few more pots of coffee early in the morning. There is no need to stay longer than expected.
🍽 Kitchen Team
Serve as Usual, Go Home Early,
Set up, and prep like always, allowing both services to enjoy warm fellowship. Once the second service begins, clean up and head home.
🙌 Greeting & Usher Team
Stay 30 Minutes Longer
Welcome second service guests with the same warmth and joy. After the third worship song in second service, you’re free to leave.
🎒 Ready, Set, Go Team
Just 10 Extra Minutes
After the first service, do a quick check of seat backs: refill Connect Cards, envelopes, and pens—no need to stay for the second service.
🧒 Sunday School Team
Serve & Grow Spiritually
Now you can attend one service and teach in the other—no more missing church.
Want to teach more often? Great! This lets you build genuine relationships with the kids.
More consistent interaction = deeper discipleship and faith development.
🍷 Communion Team
Efficient Setup, Early Exit
: Prepare all elements before the first service. Refrigerate cups for the second service. After the first service, clean up and reset the table—no need to stay for the second service.
🎤 Worship Arts Team
More Music, More Impact
You’ll serve both services, but this is your calling.
Double the opportunity to lead people into God’s presence.
We’ll rotate where possible to help you stay refreshed.
Final Word of Encouragement
This isn’t just about logistics—it’s about souls.
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
Thank you for your faithful service. We are building His Church together, one soul, one Sunday at a time.
Lets make Heaven Crowded!
In Him,
Pastor Chris
