Vine & Branch Fellowship has many ways to serve. Click on the titles below to read more.

Sunday School Children

Serving in Sunday School is one of the most powerful and lasting ways to impact the next generation for Christ. By stepping into this ministry, you become a shaper of lives, a builder of faith, and a guide in a child’s spiritual journey. Research shows that a child’s moral compass is largely set by age 11, meaning the foundation you lay today will guide them for the rest of their lives.

As a Sunday School Teacher, Helper, Nursery Worker, or Cleanup Person, you have the privilege to:

  • Be a Positive Role Model – You become someone a child can look up to, trust, and learn from, demonstrating what it means to walk in faith.
  • Instill Biblical Truths – You help children hide God’s Word in their hearts (Psalm 119:11), giving them a spiritual anchor in an ever-changing world.
  • Shape Their Future – Proverbs 22:6 reminds us: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” The seeds of faith you plant today can impact their eternity.
  • Build Lasting Relationships – Your investment in their lives creates a safe and loving environment where they can grow in faith, ask questions, and develop a hunger for God’s truth.

Roles in Sunday School:

  • Sunday School Teacher – Responsible for teaching the lesson, guiding discussions, and helping kids understand God’s Word.
  • Sunday School Helper – The eyes and ears of the classroom, assisting the teacher by keeping kids engaged, helping them find restrooms, and providing an extra layer of safety and care.
  • Nursery Worker – Provides care for infants and toddlers, giving new moms a much-needed 60-minute break to recharge through worship and Scripture, knowing their little ones are in loving hands.
  • Cleanup Person – A 20-minute commitment to ensure the room is tidy and everything is put away after class.

Serving Commitment:

Teachers, helpers, nursery workers, and cleanup volunteers serve 10-12 times per year, making this a manageable yet deeply impactful commitment.

This isn’t just about filling a role—it’s about discipling, mentoring, and planting seeds of faith that will bear fruit for generations to come. If you want to make a real and eternal impact, Sunday School ministry is where you belong!

Hospitality Team

Do you know that one of the scariest things people do is come to church for the first time? Walking into a new place, surrounded by unfamiliar faces, can feel overwhelming. That’s where you come in.

As a Greeter, Usher, or Parking Lot Attendant, you are the first face of Jesus that people see when they arrive. You have the power to turn nervousness into peace, uncertainty into belonging, and hesitation into joy.

By simply offering a warm welcome, a kind smile, and clear guidance, you can help visitors feel at home before they ever step into the worship service. When you take the time to:

  • Greet them with warmth – You reassure them that they are wanted and valued. By reading body language, you can determine if a handshake, a friendly touch on the shoulder, or just a smile and kind words are most appropriate—ensuring warmth without violating personal space.
  • Show them where to go – Whether it’s the restrooms, Sunday School check-in, coffee center, or worship center, your guidance helps them feel confident instead of lost.
  • Make them feel at ease – Engaging in light conversation, offering a simple gesture of kindness, or directing them to a comfortable place to sit allows them to relax before worship begins.
  • Add a Layer of Protection – In today’s world, churches must also be aware of safety. As the first point of contact, you have the ability to observe if someone is acting suspiciously, displaying peculiar body language, or potentially seeking to cause harm. Sometimes, a simple warm greeting is enough to deter ill intentions. Other times, just being vigilant in the parking lot and entryway can help prevent a dangerous situation before it begins.

Serving Commitment:

Greeters, Ushers, and Parking Lot Attendants serve once a month and remain in their role until the first worship song is completed.

Because of you, people’s hearts are softened before the service even starts. And when the worship concludes, they are more open to the powerful work of Scripture—and quite possibly, meeting Jesus for the first time.

This isn’t just a “hospitality role.” It’s a ministry of connection, love, protection, and evangelism. You are a bridge between fear and faith, isolation and community, uncertainty and salvation. If you want to help people take their first step toward Jesus while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all, then this is where you belong!

Worship Arts

The Worship Arts Team has a profound impact on Sunday mornings and beyond. This is more than just music, sound, or visuals—it’s a ministry that prepares hearts for life-changing encounters with God.

As a member of this team—whether you work in sound, lighting, screens, or on the platform—you are the face of Jesus, not just on Sundays but throughout the entire week. That means our conduct, attitudes, and hearts must reflect Christ, because we help set the atmosphere for worship, allowing people to push out the sin, burdens, and distractions they carry from the week and step into the presence of God.

Every role on this team is vital, because together, we create an environment where people’s hearts can be softened and prepared to hear God’s Word and experience real transformation. Worship isn’t just a warm-up for the sermon—it’s often where God first pierces a heart, breaking down walls and allowing the healing power of Scripture to take root.

If you have technical skills like sound engineering, an eye for detail in on-screen content, experience in lighting, a gift for playing an instrument, or a voice to lead in worship, then this is the place for you to serve.

Join the Worship Arts Team and be a part of ushering people into the presence of God, helping them prepare their hearts to hear His truth and experience real, lasting change.

Hope City Youth

Jr. High and High School are some of the most awkward, challenging, and defining years in a young person’s life. It’s a time of peer pressure, identity struggles, emotional highs and lows, and overwhelming influence from the world’s values. More than ever, teens need mentors, role models, and a safe place where they can experience the love of Christ.

By serving in Youth Ministry, you have the incredible opportunity to meet students right where they are—in the midst of their struggles, doubts, and insecurities—and show them that they are seen, valued, and loved. This may be the only place all week where they feel truly accepted and safe.

As part of this team, you will:

  • Love them unconditionally – Teens are longing for authenticity. By simply showing up, listening, and caring, you become a steady presence in their chaotic world.
  • Feed them physically and spiritually – Yes, we share food, but more importantly, we share the Bread of Life—Jesus Christ (John 6:35).
  • Stand in the gap – Many students are wrestling with deep questions, pressures, and wounds, and you get to be a light in their darkness, pointing them to God’s truth, grace, and hope.
  • Help them build a firm foundation – Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” The seeds of faith you plant today can impact their eternity.

Serving Commitment:

  • This role requires serving 3 times per month.
  • You can serve in two ways:
    • Cooking a meal – Help provide food for youth group nights, offering nourishment and hospitality.
    • Working directly with the youth – Engage with students, build relationships, lead small groups, and walk alongside them in their faith journey.

This isn’t just a volunteer position—it’s a calling to make a real, lasting difference in the lives of the next generation. Come join our team and be a part of shaping young hearts, leading them closer to Jesus, and showing them that no matter what the world tells them, they are deeply loved and created with purpose!

Kitchen Team

At first glance, the Kitchen Team may seem like a simple, behind-the-scenes ministry—but its impact on Vine & Branch Fellowship is profound. Without this vital team, our after-church fellowship would be lackluster, missing the warmth and connection that happens when people gather around food. Because of these dedicated servants, fellowship flourishes, often lasting until noon on Sundays, as people linger, share, and build meaningful relationships.

This isn’t just about food—it’s about creating an atmosphere where people feel welcomed, cared for, and connected. Something powerful happens when people break bread together (Acts 2:42). Friendships are formed, burdens are shared, and newcomers feel like family.

Serving Commitment:

  • Once a month (or once every six weeks if fully staffed)
  • Arrive 30 minutes before service to prepare food and set up.
  • Stay 45-60 minutes after service to put food away and clean up.

This team feeds both the body and the soul, fostering a place where people don’t just hear about the love of Christ—they experience it in real, tangible ways.

If you want to serve in a ministry that brings people together, strengthens community, and makes a lasting impact, the Kitchen Team is where you belong!

Business Council

Do you have skills in accounting, casualty insurance, human resources, finance, facility maintenance forecasting, or giving trends? If so, the Business Council is the perfect place for you to serve!

This team is designed for those who want to use their professional expertise to strengthen the church without the added responsibilities of eldership. Your wisdom, experience, and insight can help ensure that Vine & Branch Fellowship stewards its resources wisely, plans for the future, and remains financially and operationally strong.

By serving on the Business Council, you will:

  • Support the church’s financial and operational health – Help assess and guide budgeting, giving trends, and financial planning.
  • Provide expertise in key areas – Whether it’s insurance, HR policies, facility maintenance, or forecasting, your knowledge is crucial in protecting and growing the church.
  • Offer strategic insight – Your role helps ensure that wise, God-honoring decisions are made regarding the church’s resources.
  • Serve without eldership responsibilities – This is a unique opportunity to use your gifts for the Kingdom in a vital way, without the full-time commitment of being an elder.

Commitment:

  • The Business Council meets 6-8 times per year.
  • All recommendations and reports are presented to the Elder Board for final decisions.

Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed.” By serving on the Business Council, you help ensure the long-term strength of Vine & Branch Fellowship so we can continue spreading the Gospel and serving the community for generations to come.

If you want to make a real impact using your professional gifts, this is where you belong!

Helping Hands

Do you have a heart to be the hands and feet of Jesus in your neighborhood and community? Are you someone who is flexible, ready to serve, and willing to use your skills—big or small—to make a difference? If so, Helping Hands is the ministry for you!

This ministry is for those who feel called to love their neighbors through action, just as Jesus commanded. It’s not about having a title or a set schedule—it’s about being available to meet needs, no matter how big or small.

Serving in Helping Hands might mean:

  • Simple Acts of Kindness – Bringing in your neighbor’s newspaper or trash cans, sending an encouraging note, or checking in on someone who lives alone.
  • Providing Transportation – Giving rides to doctor’s appointments, grocery stores, or church for those who can’t drive themselves.
  • Meal Support – Coordinating meal trains for families going through hard times, new parents, or those recovering from illness.
  • Larger Projects – Helping with house repairs, yard work, moving assistance, or other hands-on needs that lighten someone’s load.

Do you want to fulfill the Great Commission? Matthew 25:40 reminds us, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.” This ministry is an opportunity to live out the Gospel in real, tangible ways—meeting both practical and spiritual needs in the name of Jesus.

If you desire to serve others, make a real impact, and show Christ’s love in action, then Helping Hands is where you belong!

The Brew Crew

Coffee may seem like a small thing, but at Vine & Branch Fellowship, it’s a vital part of our ministry. The Brew Crew is responsible for making and maintaining the high-quality coffee that has become a signature part of our church experience. This role isn’t just about brewing coffee—it’s about creating an inviting and welcoming environment where connections are made and community is built.

For many, a warm cup of coffee is a comfort in new surroundings. It breaks the ice, opens doors for conversation, and makes visitors feel at home. Before and after service, it fuels fellowship, laughter, and meaningful conversations that extend beyond Sunday morning.

Why This Role Matters:

  • Creates a Welcoming Atmosphere – A familiar cup of coffee helps visitors feel at ease in an unfamiliar place.
  • Supports Fellowship – Coffee brings people together, making space for conversations that encourage, uplift, and deepen relationships.
  • Maintains a Standard of Excellence – Our team ensures every cup meets the high-quality level that Vine & Branch is known for.

Serving Commitment:

  • Once per month
  • Arrive 45 minutes before church to prepare coffee stations.
  • Stay 30 minutes after church to clean up and reset for the following week.

This ministry may seem simple, but its impact is powerful—breaking down barriers, building relationships, and creating a space where people can experience the love of Christ in both word and action.

If you love great coffee and want to serve in a way that brings warmth, comfort, and community, the Brew Crew is the place for you!
